A busy summer for the Peripatetic team
05 October 2023
The Peripatetic Team, have a role in helping to set up new services and support services to transition to Optalis. The team of experienced care and support workers have been busy supporting people to get the most out their summer, even though the weather hasn’t been great.
Over recent weeks, people we support have enjoyed visits to Windsor, Horseshoe Lake, California Country Park, Dinton Pastures, Tri Lakes and South Hill Park. Everybody was welcome and people who attended enjoyed spending time together in these lovely outdoor places. They’ve seen boats, planes and even petted some animals.
“We went for a nice walk and got a chance to see the animals. Afterwards, we went to the café for lunch. I really enjoyed it.”
It’s been a really good summer for Optalis customers, new and old. New friendships have been made too.
On the first Wednesday of each month, the team support an arts and craft workshop. The group have tried their hand at stone art, canvas painting, decorating plant pots and shell pictures.
To end a fantastic summer, the Loddon Court (short breaks) Team arranged an amazing summertime ball which was attended by lots of people from all over the area. Everybody dressed up in their best clothes and had a fun-filled evening with tasty food, music and entertainment.
“The Summer Ball was amazing! The hotel was 5 star, and I was dressed up smart. I saw my friends and we danced. I had a great night.”
“Everyone had a fabulous time…Thank you to Mirna, Richard and Irene who took the lead and did a wonderful job. The food and decorations were amazing. Brilliant job!”
