Community Lives Celebrates D-Day 2024

Boyn and Oakbridge Community Lives hosted an event on June 6th to commemorate D-Day. The event featured era-appropriate fashion, a chance to experience a 1940s kitchen and dining room, and stories about the D-Day landings. Attendees also used their ration cards in exchange for scones and jam, immersing themselves in the memories of the time.

The day concluded with music and songs, including "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" and "Pack Up Your Troubles." Everyone sang and danced, with a few tears in their eyes as they remembered and honoured the past.

Woodley, Wokingham, Oakbridge and Byon Grove Community Lives Services also came together for a special T-Dance at Dinton Pastures.
