Creating a Home: Brambletye’s Transformation Welcomes New Residents

Brambletye has recently been refurbished, transforming it into a clean and inviting new home for four ladies. Mirna, Head of Regulated Services (Wokingham) said:

“It has taken months of planning with the families to ensure we got this right for people. We have worked together with the team at Adult Services, everyone from physiotherapists to social workers, to make sure good support is planned around each person. Karyn and her team have done a great job getting the home up and running and helping people to move in at a pace that is suitable for them and their family.”

Mirna added:

“The environment is much improved. The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated and every room has been redecorated. The ladies and their families are enjoying adding personal and homely touches to the space. Throughout the home, we have also introduced new technology to help us keep people safe and promote people’s inclusion and wellbeing”

On 7th November, the team put on a welcome tea party for the new housemates, their friends and family. The afternoon provided an opportunity for everyone to continue to get to know each other better, whilst enjoying some tasty homemade treats. One family member commented, “There is a nice atmosphere here” capturing the warm and calming energy that filled the room.

Service Manager, Karyn McNaughton, commented:

“It is lovely to see people gelling so well, it helps that some of the ladies were already friends. We have thought about how we can best meet people’s needs and have formed a support team who already know and understand the ladies well.”

The tea party marked the beginning of many shared moments, setting the tone for a caring, and supportive environment. Now, the ladies are settling into a place they can call home, where they’ll have the support to enjoy the things that matter to them.
