Learning Disability Week 2021, Celebrating Creativity
16 June 2021
Many people with learning disabilities use creative arts to express themselves, present their situation and gain confidence along the way. Over the past year, art has been a vital output for many to help stay connected and find positivity. We're celebrating that art and creativity during Learning Disability Week 2021!
ArtAble members from our Boyn Grove Service will be showcasing their incredible talent in an exhibition at Wexham Park Hospital from June 18th as part of Learning Disability Week. Read more about the exhibit here.
It wasn't just the ArtAble group members getting creative during this week. Take a look at the artwork from members at the Westmead Service,
Customers from Earley Community Lives service ventured outside and made splatter paint pictures, photo coasters, created a wall art jigsaw puzzle by colouring several pieces each, and 8 of our talented customers have performed a singing or dance video, covering all kinds of music including Polish pop, Musicals, Punjabi, Bollywood, Line Dancing and Disco!
The celebrations were a great way for members to encourage and cheer for each other as they performed, and to see all the different ways people can express their creativity.
