Learning Disability Week 2024

This Learning Disability Week some of the people we support shared that things they enjoy.

Sarah -  “My passion is baking. I use a Bake Off recipe to make a strawberry cheesecake about once a week for my family!”

Tom - “I’m a golfer, I play three times a week at my local golf club. I started golf at age 12, now I play in competitions and interclub matches. My handicap is 12.7, I’ve had a hole in one twice, including in a competition!”

Kimberley - “I like to act and dance. I performed in the Pantomime last year and regularly dance on stage at the Line Dancing club.”

Maria - “I swim regularly with Reading Cygents, and take part in swimming galas.”

Emma - "I really enjoy yoga and have been doing it for years. I like to learn new yoga moves that challenge me!”

Michael - "I love football and support Brentford Football Club. I go to all the home games and any away games I can get to."

Miles - “I’m a talented singer. I’ve performed at college events, in Reading with a busker called Jordan, and at Disability Pride. My favourite singers are Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran and Conor Maynard.”

Rohan - “I’m learning how to drive. I took a course on how to pass my theory test and passed my test a few weeks ago. Next step, driving lessons.”

Community Lives Celebrates D-Day 2024

Boyn and Oakbridge Community Lives hosted an event on June 6th to commemorate D-Day. Woodley, Wokingham, Oakbridge and Byon Grove Community Lives Services also came together for a special T-Dance.
