New Commercial Director joins Optalis

Gary Thorpe has joined Optalis as its new Commercial Director. Gary has been working in social care for around 38 years - having spent 28 of those years working for Essex Social Services, and the last 10 years working in the voluntary and independent sectors with four different organisations. In his last role, he worked with national organisation Craegmoor as Business Development Director.

Within Optalis Gary will have a broad range of responsibilities - focusing primarily on operational services, working closely with the Business Area Managers, and working as part of the Senior Management Team - looking at sustaining and growing Optalis in a planned way.

Gary said: "Having only been with Optalis for a short time, I’m already struck by the high level of commitment of staff in providing services, and the many innovative ways in which our customers are supported and enabled. I’m very excited by the prospects for Optalis and the opportunity I have to contribute to that."

Andrew Pickup, Managing Director, said: "Gary brings a larger company discipline to our overall operational robustness and this will both improve the quality of our services here in Wokingham, but also ensure we have a strong platform from which to grow."
