Optalis champions the care of Carers
10 June 2015
This week is national Carers Week, aiming to raise awareness of caring and the challenges Carers face.
Optalis holds free monthly Choices Café sessions that offer Carers a relaxed environment to get together in support of each other. Activities are provided for their loved ones by experienced Optalis staff to allow a few hours respite.
Carers are this month invited to take part in a Dementia Friends session, an initiative launched by the Alzheimer’s Society to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia.
Debbie Summerville, Service Manager, said: "We know first-hand the contribution Carers make to their loved ones and the Wokingham community, and want use our expertise to offer support where we can. Choices Cafe is a chance for an informal get-together with likeminded people and if you'd like, your loved one can cared for by our experienced staff. Come along next Friday for coffee and cake to find out more!"
Choices Café is being held at Alexandra Place, South Lake Crescent, Woodley, RG5 3QW on Friday 19 June, 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
