Optalis Independent Living Services rated Good by the CQC
06 January 2017
CQC inspected the services, which provides personal care to 12 people living in supported living accommodation in the Wokingham area, over two days and found that the services were providing well-led, effective, safe, caring and responsive services.
CQC contacted customers and their relatives and found that people who use the service, their relatives and staff all said they would recommend the service to another person or member of their family. “People were treated with care and kindness. They were consulted about their support and could change how thing were done if they wanted to.”
Health and social care professionals were also consulted as part of the inspection and they also provided positive feedback. One professional commented, “Care workers who have been with the service for several years understand the individual service users, their personalities, likes and dislikes.”
Optalis colleagues were also asked for their views and the CQC said, “People benefitted from a staff team that were happy in their work. One member of staff said, “Optalis pushes for staff points of views, clients inclusion and independence and fights for their rights and ensures their views are heard. The company is one of the best I have worked for and I enjoy working for Optalis.”
Independent Living Services Registered Manager Mark Hunt (pictured right) said, “Achieving this excellent result was a team effort over the last 11 months and is testament to their hard work and dedication.”
