Out & About is a unique and expanding service, providing day, evening and weekend opportunities for adults with a learning disability to access community activities. Our focus is in organising day trips to places of interest, such as the coast, theme parks, swimming, and much more. The service also offers 1:1 outreach support during week days, and specialises in finding appropriate activities for those adults who prefer not to attend traditional day service activities.
We are seeking enthusiastic support workers to join our team of dedicated staff. If you are able to work independently, using your own initiative and able to manage challenging situations, then this could be the role for you. Ideally, you would have one year’s experience of supporting vulnerable adults in the community but this is not essential. You should have particular skills in motivating others. A significant requirement of the role will be promoting independence, social inclusion, as well as providing care and support to our client group.
