Optalis presents cheque to Thames Valley Air Ambulance
07 January 2016
The Thames Valley Air Ambulance is a charity that relies solely on fund-raising and donations from the communities of Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. On average three people every day will find themselves in a life-threatening situation which requires urgent high quality medical treatment at the scene before they reach hospital. The Thames Valley Air Ambulance team, led by a highly qualified doctor, can be at a site within minutes ready to deliver the same level of care that would otherwise be found in the hospital emergency department.
The charity was chosen by Optalis staff to be the recipient of our charity fundraising as some colleagues have had personal experience of being in an emergency situation where the Air Ambulance was first at the scene.
Berkshire Fundraising Manager Kate Martin stresses the importance of donations like these: “On behalf of the charity I would like to thank Optalis for raising vital funds to help keep our life saving service operational. Without the kind support of the local community and businesses we would not be able to continue our important work.”
Athena Davies, HR Director at Optalis commented, “Athena Davies, HR Director at Optalis commented, “We take corporate social responsibility very seriously and every year support a charitable cause as part of our commitment to the local community. We are delighted to support the Air Ambulance and do our bit to keep this vital emergency service flying.”
