Optalis sponsors Celebrate Age event
23 September 2013
Next month sees the regular annual event that is Celebrate Age take place - on Tuesday October 1, 10am to 3pm, at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre in Lower Earley.
Celebrate Age is aimed at older people aged 50+ who live in the borough. Like every year, the event (which is organised by Wokingham Borough Council) will host a number of free activities including Tai-Chi, and arts and crafts - led by local artists. In addition, members of the Council's own Sports Development Team will be on hand to run SHINE sports sessions such as swimming and trampolining.
Optalis works in close partnership with Wokingham Borough Council, and decided to sponsor Celebrate Age 2013 by providing free lunches to attendees and stallholders, and a competition prize of £100!
We'll also have a selection of staff there manning stands - from services including the Sensory Needs Team, and Independent Brokerage.
Mike Wooldridge, Senior Manager: Improvement and Performance at Wokingham Borough Council, said: "We’re looking forward to another really good turn out for Celebrate Age this year. A big thank you to all those who have contributed to organising or are offering up their time to run information stands and activities, and in particular to Optalis - who have also kindly sponsored this year's event."
