Optalis triumph at Great British Care Awards!
29 April 2014
Optalis are delighted to announce that one of our Activities Coordinators - Rebecca Craker - has won yet another award!
Rebecca, who works at Suffolk Lodge Care Home, won a regional award last year but walked away from the Great British Care Awards final on Saturday (April 26) with the top prize in her category of 'Care Home Coordinator'. She was accompanied to the ceremony by Optalis' Finance Director Paul Steadman, Suffolk Lodge Manager Wendy Luck, and its Deputy Manager Cathy Illsley.
The Great British Care Awards are supported by organisations across the UK social care sector, including the Department of Health, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA), Care England, the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), the National Skills Academy, and Skills for Care.
The national award winner said: "I was stunned and delighted to win. An award is never about one person and I am thankful for the dedication and passion of the team at Suffolk Lodge who make the lives of our residents good by facilitating and engaging in purposeful and meaningful activity.
"I am not sure it has fully sunk in that we are national winners, but we will continue to provide the best activities we can."
Managing Director of Optalis, Andrew Pickup, said: "To be recognised and nominated by your manager for one of the Great British Care Awards is accolade enough, but to then go on to win the award nationally is truly extraordinary."
