Christmas comes to Suffolk Lodge!

On Friday December 20, staff from the Wokingham branch of Waitrose and a film crew of six visited Suffolk Lodge Care Home to help out with the residents’ Christmas lunch, and film the afternoon’s events! Waitrose staff helped serve drinks and food, allowing Optalis support staff to sit and assist more than 30 residents with their lunches.

On Thursday December 5, Optalis held its second annual Pub Quiz for staff. The event was organised again due to the storming success of the event last year, where hundreds of pounds were raised for local charity The Link Visiting Scheme.

Optalis teams help Children In Need

This month, staff from Optalis teams joined forces to raise money for Children In Need. Staff members raised a total of £310 for the cause, by organising fundraising activities such as "wear your onesie to work day", raffles, a "name the bear" competition, cake-selling, and a sponsored swim.

Therapeutic art sessions at Suffolk Lodge

Residents from Suffolk Lodge, all of whom suffer from a form of dementia, are attending week two of a six-week art course, run by local artist Patrick Harte, this week. The theme will be “shoes and boots”.
