People living at The Berkshire Care Home enjoyed a circus skills session, specially adapted for older adults and people living with dementia.
03 January 2024
The workshop was led by Cathy Valentine from Circus Scene. Cathy created a sensory experience, with sounds, colours and textures, which invoked the feel of the circus. The activity was designed to support reminiscence, gentle movement and coordination. As well as offering an entertaining experience, and a chance for people to try out something new. Circus tunes played while people juggled silk scarves, twirled ribbons and tried their hand at plate spinning.
With special thanks to local charity, Wokingham in Need, for funding this opportunity for the people we support.
