Sensory Garden opens at the Acorn Centre in Wokingham

The Sensory Garden at the Learning Disabilities Day Service in Wokingham was officially opened on 11 August by Katrina Reeves, Head of Service. Speaking at the ribbon cutting ceremony attended by clients and invited guests, Katrina said, “The Sensory Garden looks absolutely amazing so thank you so much to the people who have been involved – giving your time and resources to this project and thanks so much to Mandy Loveday, for putting this wonderful garden together.”

Mandy said, “We had the idea of turning something old into something new and then I thought the Mad Hatters tea party would be a good theme so that inspired all the decorations for the garden. This garden shows how something so simple can be effective and you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Everyone has put so much thought and effort into this lovely garden – and created a magical place.”
