Staying out for the summer!
31 July 2014
It's safe to say that Optalis' Day Service customers have been kept busy and entertained these last couple of months in particular; when the weather's improved to the point where outdoor activities become a regular feature on the programme!
In June, Wokingham Borough Council's SHINEplus team organised a Football Tournament at Cantley Park this month, and all three of Optalis' Learning Disability Day Service bases took part, with a total of 110 people taking part!
Customers from our Westmead Day Service also took advantage of the pleasant weather, venturing out on barge trips, taking part in gardening activities, and going sailing!
And, last week, customers and staff from our Earley Day Service spent a day down on the seafront at Southsea . They strolled along the promenade and enjoyed the sun, and at lunchtime, they ventured onto Clarence Pier where they had fresh fish and chips - and ice cream for afters!
Other recent trips have included Beale Park, Windsor, a River Thames boat trip, and the Waterside Centre.
