Things get a little 'spooky' at Optalis

Our Earley and Woodley Day Service held a Halloween workshop on October 31 at the Crescent Centre - where customers made masks and broomsticks! There was also Halloween-themed quiz and games.
Over at Westmead Day Service, around 15 customers, staff and volunteers all got together for some Halloween-themed food, drinks and music. There was a prize for best costume and a ‘marshmallow-bobbing’ contest!
At the Learning Disability Day Service base at the Acorn Community Cente (Wokingham), staff held a Halloween party on Thursday afternoon where customers and staff dressed up in spooky fancy dress! There was a great deal of dancing going on, and good fun was had by all.
Cockayne Court and Pinehaven Day Service organised a Halloween lunch. Staff decorated the large dining room with all things eerie, and they dressed up in fancy dress to help set the scene!
Suffolk Lodge Care Home held activities all week, including cake icing, and held a special Halloween lunch for residents on Thursday. There was also a pumpkin-decorating competition where residents from each unit had a pumpkin to decorate. Suffolk Lodge’s manager Wendy Luck chose the 1st and 2nd prize-winners. The pumpkins were on display for the home's Halloween lunch on Thursday!

Optalis customers get IT right!
During October, Optalis began running what has since become a very popular computer session, called IT4U. Sessions take place every Monday afternoon in the Computer Suite at the Crescent Centre (Lower Earley), where customers have access to ten computers and a laptop.
