Westmead Open Day in December
26 November 2012
We're holding an open day at the Westmead Day Centre (Rances Lane, Wokingham) on Wednesday December 5. Westmead specialises in providing day services for adults with physical disabilities, and will be open from 10am to 2pm on December 5. The aim of the open day is to showcase the various services and activities to new customers and to allow them to meet and talk to current customers.
Senior care worker Kay Thompson said: “There are lots of activities here at Westmead; arts, cookery and IT, for example. We are a specialist day centre and we can also provide access to health services, such as foot care and specially adapted bathing facilities.
“Westmead is an important social centre in the community, and we have the ability to help new clients who might have been socially isolated previously.”
Westmead employs well-trained, experienced staff who are able to help customers. Kay added: “We are able to help out with much more than activities. So, as well as having some fun, we can help customers brush up with their day-to-day domestic skills, such as cooking a meal.”
