Ability Gardening - Training Programme

Supported Employment Enquiry Form

What we offer our team members

Our Ability Gardening Training Programme supports individuals with a range of disabilities to learn and develop workplace skills in a practical, outdoor environment. The team maintain and enhance green spaces across Wokingham, Windsor, and Maidenhead.

Our programme helps team members build confidence, develop employability skills, and transfer these into a variety of work settings.

While working alongside our employment coaches, our team members gain valuable experience in the following areas:

  • Planting and garden maintenance
  • Horticultural skills – soil preparation, pruning, and weeding
  • Safe use of tools and equipment
  • Watering and irrigation techniques
  • Seasonal planting and biodiversity
  • Outdoor space management and upkeep

And most importantly, an employment reference!

In addition to these practical skills, our specialist employment support team provides tailored guidance and advice to help team members explore further employment opportunities that align with their employment goals and aspirations.

If you are interested in joining the programme, please contact employmentservice@optalis.org or call 0118 977 8600.
